about

"Well, I’m making music for years now and beside creating own stuff it was always one important aspect of my work to do cover versions of songs I loved or of songs I tried to understand better by performing them by myself. And there is another aspect you can’t image my musical work without: remixes!
So, while I stored some cover versions on my regular albums (like that “Creep” cover on “No Hablo Español”…), I conceptualized an own series of remixes to be released as free download albums between the regular albums. But even the second volume was more than a simple collection of remixes, it became a project of it’s own (I did two very sprawling remixes of the same song and I also designed a very special physical edition – maybe you still remember “14U14ME”…?). So, after that intermezzo, it seemed to be about time that I should recollect the original concept of my remix series and finish the next collection of different remixes to release it as free download album (there are some remixes completed and still waiting on my harddrive to be released…), but things went different again, so the third volume of the JDE Remix series is still a special thing: I usually don’t zap around when I’m in front of my TV, but in February 2016 I did and I came across a documentary about polyphonic singing from Sardinia. I immediately fell in love with that beautiful chants and got myself an album by the Tenores de Oniferi from Sardinia. I isolated a lot of passages and sounds and started to swirl around those sounds, to assemble them in a different way, to alienate them and so on…
Well, you can now listen to the end result of this: here is “THE REMIXES #3”, an album with lofi-electronic reworks of beautiful sounds from Sardinia. Thank you.
